I'm not sure if it's fair to say that trance rules the day in this (albeit ridiculous) survey.

consider:

Top 20 genre scoring:
Trance = 8 (Tiesto, Paul, Armin, Ferry, CL, Oakey, ATB, Marco V)
Progressive = 7 (Sasha, Hernan, Diggers, Deep Dish, Sander, JZ, Howells)
Hard Dance = 2 (Jules, Tall Paul)
House = 2 (Roger, Benassi)
Techno = 1 (Coxy)

Plus if you were to consider who grosses more $$ per year (i.e. market value) I would suspect the prog team to come out on top by far :wink:

At least people have to admit that somebody out there is appreciating the trance genre. Just because most of us here are prog fans, I dont see why we have to bash the biggest (by votes) DJ of all!!!

the most surprising thing IMO, in a good way, about this poll is that Hernan is #6. Good for him.

and Sander was pretty high too, #11

yes it is a popularity contest but it's fun , especially reading all the reactions from people

and i think there must have been a huge USA vote this year because a few USA dj's are up there pretty high, considering that they are not as well known globally as some of the other's

Now that the dance floor tenticles have reached the comercial masses we have peole voting like your unkle or your teacher. This has turned this poll into a joke for us seasoned underground house music lovers. Them folks wouldn`t know a quality track if it jumped up and bought them a beer. We need to educate folks, make it your mission today to convert at least 1 person into blissfull housemusic and away from that earpiercing noise they insist on listening to. I`m going to start with the guy who lives 4 doors up from me. Good lad but his shit stinks!

sometimes I just get the feeling when reading you that provided any dj has been downloadable he/she deserves immediataly to be ranked in dj mag's poll. mp3s limits your overall view on music mates.

I want to see #101 - 200. It's usually up on the site a few weeks after. Those are the djs that include the up + comers, the hot new talent, who didn't have a multitude of rabid fans but still managed to impress enough people to get their vote. I'm sure a lot of names we haven't seen yet will be on that list.
