lol @ Biden not having a clue what obama wants to do with iran. when palin was saying that obama would be willing to meet with the iranian pres without preconditions biden said: "his is simply not true about Barack Obama. He did not say sit down with Ahmadinejad."

    from obama's site:
Obama supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions.

Ok shosh, I'm sorry but I just have to ask. I've been dying to know: Your avowed hatred of Obama and his lack of experience aside for a moment...can you possibly deny that Palin has turned out to be a horrifically unqualified choice by McCain?

OK, first off, Ahmadinejad is not the leader of Iran, and unless he's done it very recently, he has never, in fact, said he'd sit down with Ahmadinejad, period. More importantly, though, haven't we all been over this before? It's a semantic difference, the difference between "preparations" and "preconditions." If you've made it to this point in the election season and you sincerely believe that Obama intends to invite Ahmadinijad over for a BBQ right off the bat, you're either not paying attention, are listening selectively, or are being intellectually dishonest. No one believes that.

i never said she was the best choice or that i agree with what mccain's choice. so yeah i do agree that she is unqualified. tbh i didnt even want mccain to be the gop nominee. and i actually believe that neither obama nor mccain are going to do any good.
glad i could help you stay alive

            wait wat?

Ahmadinejad is the president of Iran, isn't he? Obama says right on his website that he "supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions."

            Biden denied Obama said that.

I am paying attention, are you?

OK, so what happens when the US decides to negotiate with a country that doesn't have a president? And what would be the point of having negotiations with the president when the leader of the country is actually the Supreme Leader? It makes no sense.

"Direct presidential diplomacy" means "our president is directly involved in diplomacy." It's the only interpretation that makes any sense.

technically ahmadinejad is the president (has executive powers), the supreme leader is Ali Khamenei, the ayatollah

Kinda surprised you know this, makes me wonder why you're so worked up about Ahmadinejad since you know he's not the "leader" of Iran and therefore not the person Obama would be negotiating with anyway. Seems a touch disingenuous.

And by the way, lest there be any confusion about who has what duties, the Ayatollah is the supreme commander of the Iranian armed forces and has the sole authority to declare war and peace.
