no. if anything, we need to return the liquidity to the marketplace. all this is based on a giant sell off of stock which lead to the massive shortages of cash on hand.

to put it better... i have been using this...

today, the safe from jimmy stewart's bank is the stock holdings of these companies, as they are not operating on the township level, but on the global level. people ran the bank by selling stock based on a monster over-reaction of thinking the banks were holding a ton of bad debt, well they arent, it is literally less than one %, and furthermore what the media isnt telling you people, is that the bad debt is ensured by the Federal Housing Association anyway, and now the FHA is planning on buying bad debt and sitting on it, allowing the debtors to pay it back at a cheaper rate and longer term, still making a profit. it was the investing public that demanded that the bonds these loans are collateralized to be paid in full, and hold a better performance.

and to clear things up further. sub prime lending is MASSIVE. bascially it is any mortgage underwritten above 95% of home value, for anyone with a 620 or lower mid score of the 3 reporting bureaus in the US, any ARM, anything mortgaged above 417600. (which, accounts for pretty much every home in lower NY, california, any coastal state, florida etc)
