Born and raised in Paris, where his reggae-dub roots were fed with hip hop through years of graffiti raids, and with techno and house after listening to many artists, at 17 Simbad moved to Cordoba, Argentina. In 1996 he started djing at clubs and cultural events and two years later he co-organized a series of interdisciplinary events called Mundo-Mix, one of them taking place at the Contemporary Art Center of Cordoba. Many clubs from Buenos Aires gradually began to book him. He played at every local Creamfields edition, sharing the Soup arena in 2006 with Troy Pierce, Matthew Dear and Lawrence, and in 2007 with Craig Richards and Mathias Schaffhäuser. He’s also played big events such as Brahma Beats, 1Live! and SonarSound Buenos Aires. Through Dialogo Beat collective, teamed up with visual artists, writers and musicians, Simbad has programmed and played different events with guest artists such as Mike Shannon. Within his regular commitments around Cordoba he’s the resident of Club 33 and plays different venues with the likes of Sammy Dee, Phil Stumpf, Someone Else, Cabanne, Yoshihiro Hanno and Serafin. His talent is eventually recruited from Brazil and France. In Argentina he also plays a monthly gig in Buenos Aires at the Soup night (Bahrein club) with Carlos Alfonsin and Cristobal Paz, as well as many gigs all across the country.
