Grew up north of beantown and huge Sox fan but have to say TB is playing amazing b-ball right now and they deserve it. They're killing the sox best pitchers and their pitching is shutting sox hitters down. If they win I'll be rooting for them cuz they play thegame the right way and who doesn't like a worst to first story? Scary to think how good this division will be next year. And who doesn't hate the Yankees and their fans living on past victories?
hahaha, youre right, all I ever hear from yankee fan is "26 championships.." big deal.. you suck now, lol
and then they act like they played on the damn teams when you talk about them
sorry Sean, just my observation, lol
That's such a shitty observation for baseball if you really give a shit about the sport. More than any other sport, baseball embraces it's history, it's records, it's past. I hate the fking yankees too, but "26 championships..big deal" ?? ...um, it's a pretty big deal. Second place is all the way back at 10, the Cards. A team (boston) wins a couple in a few years for the first time in a hundred years or a team that has never won shit gets to the big game and now it's all about fuck the past that makes the game what it is? That's what i'm saying about their fans being horrible winners and horrible losers. Tampa has done something spectacular this year, i hope their fans don't ruin it. "Stay classy san diego"
LMAO if u think yanks fans are most hated. maybe in new england, buts thats cuz we had our foot in yer ass for a century. so, you won twice. wow. we won 4 in 5, only 3 years b4 you won yer first.
boston baseball fans are known like phlliy footbal fans. scum.

Yes...great they won 26, that is a remarkable feat that I applaud. The Celtics have won 16 titles prior to this year but that didn't mean shit because they sucked for a while prior to winning it last year. The typical Yankee fans just throw out that they have 26 and that is it but when they throw it out people are talking about the moment.

Actually I live in NY and they are hated here as well. There is a 50/50 mix of Yankee fans vs. other fans here and alot of them are douche bags.

Your unbiased opinion of course.
Having stood on the outside for YEARS watching with contempt as other cities hung banner after banner, I can honestly say it feels great to be so vilified by the rest of the sporting public. Imagine if 3 of the 4 teams you spent your entire life rooting for - through dead-last finishes year after year, through the Scott Zolak/Dino Raja/Carlos Quintanna eras - imagine those teams are now among the best in their sport, winning championship after championship. Try to tell me you wouldn't get a little vocal if your favorite teams brought home 6 rings in 7 years after being perennial donkeys. Try to say with a straight face that you wouldn't talk some smack and puff out your chest a bit – seems to me words like "class" only get thrown around by those who are looking up.
So go ahead, rain your hate down. Call us horrible fans, say we're the most despised, petty, loutish sportsfans in the world and shit all over us at every turn - we relish it, and so would you if you were in our shoes. The view from the top of the sports mountain sure is beautiful, but short-lived. Pretty soon our run will be over and we'll be back in the middle of the pack - so every Boston sports fan is enjoying of one of the most impressive, dominate stretches a single city has seen in American sports.
That being said - As painful as this series has been to watch, and it has been painful, I have to admit that the Rays are an exciting team. Having spent the whole season watching them in our division, they are playing near-perfect baseball right now. If you were to wake up from a 10 year coma this morning and tune into these games you would think the Sox were playing in their 1st ALCS ever. We're timid, flat, playing on our heels; the Rays are coming out of the gates like maniacs and completely taking us out of the game by the 3rd inning. They are straight-up challenging our big guns to beat them and so far our big guns are looking ooooold and slow.
Should the Rays win – and recent history suggests Boston isn’t totally out of it yet – it would be great to see them take the whole thing down.

can't believe i'm sticking up for the yankees, but...ugh...so, their 1996-2003 domination isn't recent enough? except for the 80s, they've won the WS in every decade since baseball began, most decades multiple ones. That's enough to give them the right to throw out that 26 whenever they want.
