I'm wary about it, but I'm not about to freak out at the mere mention of the word "Socialist". As far as I can currently tell, these guys were primarily focused on trying to change the current two party system into a multi-party system. They didn't have the best proposal for it, and it was ruled unconstitutional. I'm not quite ready to jump from there to the abolishment of private property, collectivization of industries, marketing around in stupid fur hats - you know, all the stuff that the typical American thinks when you say "Socialist". From everything I've seen so far, I really don't get the sense that Obama is actually going to take my car and my house.

Personally, I think it wouldn't be half bad if we could get away from the winner-take-all misery of these two dominant political parties. I don't think that the Fusion system is the best way to do it, though.

At this point, I'm still more likely to roll the dice for Obama than for McCain. I'm not thrilled with Obama, but I'm less thrilled with McCain...and I can't stand Palin.

I know that. Specifically, they referred to themselves as "democratic socialists", but I still don't know exactly what that means. I know what people typically think when anyone says "socialism" - they immediately think Communist Russia in 1978. Are you telling me that that's what these people were trying to do? Abolish private property, switch to a planned economy, etc.? I don't know any older people who know anything about the New Party. If you have some info that provides more policy specifics of this group, please share.

hey dont get angry, but im sorry, mccain is a neo conservative along the lines of GW2 and cheney, he just smiles more often. they damn sure do have something do with right of center thinking, just not spending and government. umm. implementation of religion into governance, immigration ideas, military and expansionism of spheres of influence, and much more.

being right wing doesnt indicate a sole idea of small government, there is a ton more to it, as is with the hard left.

This sounds strikingly like the rumblings about the Michelle Obama tape ranting about "whitey" at Rev. Wright's church that also turned out to be bullshit. Was always supposed "to be released in a few days," but never was. This tactic where the wingnuts start openly speculating about something with no basis in fact so much that it begins to take on credibility isn't going to work this time -- people have learned to see through the Republican Noise Machine. How funny is it that those on the right wing are now latching onto the words of PUMA ringleader Larry Johnson like they are gold, because the guy was a massive thorn in the collective side of the GOP up until Hillary began losing the Dem. nomination.
