Go to any fact-checking site and run a search on Rezko. Fact is, there have been lots of investigations into this, and not a one has turned up anything worth getting excited about. The fact that you evidently can't let it drop doesn't imbue the "story" with any sort of heightened relevance.

Even Obama has called his association with Rezko "boneheaded," but it doesn't follow that there's anything more here than has already been reported. It's all pretty much out there, and I suspect that you're less interested in fact-gathering and more interested in slandering Obama by raising the question...

1. Irrespective of whether you're for or against the panel conclusion, you're just flat out missing the freaking point. No one is disputing whether the guy was a loser who deserved to be fired or whether Palin had the authority to make such a decision - it was how she did it. She reportedly allowed her husband to basically strong-arm employees into the firing and enabled retaliation against people who didn't agree with her. That's basically what they concluded. There is an ethical and an unethical way to fire someone.

i agree with the fact that the husband should have stayed out of it. the trooper should have been fired, the commissioner didnt do it. both should have gone down.

2. Irrespective of whether you're for or against the panel findings, there is now lots of evidence came up from this that her husband was a regular at her office and that he attended Cabinet meetings that were supposed to be closed to the public. He was also in the loop on a lot of state-level correspondence to which he should not have had access.

3. I presume I don't have to point out to you that it was an independent, bipartisan panel started in a Legislature controlled by her own party...

first off it wasnt independent, second although it was bipartisan, the republicans on it are the ones she fought to oust as they were being corrupt and tainted.

4. And yes, as Toasty pointed out, the panel concluded that she did actually break a law.

i.e. small limited gov't, who, imo, would set basic regulations on a few major industries nad let the market move. industries : medicine, health care so to speak, but pharmacology and research (make em socialised, pay well, and open up all facets of research, from stem cell to embryonic). limit military capabilities, at this current point in time, to a: a PURELY civil policing role in iraq, and force the time table, but dont make said timetable immediate, set iraq on a security timetable. shift the offensive capabilities to NW afghan and burn loot pillage until we either found bin ladens body, or someone handed him over. i would NOT devote any more resources to such a vile society, like NW afghan and NE pakistan.

move our foreign bases back home. there are about 5-7 states in the south US that could use the man power for labor in rebuilding.

take every social poliocy GW2 implemented since 04 and reverse em, i doubt congress would have a hard time here. de-criminalize any marajuana related sentences (see HResolution 5843 )this immediatly opens over 50 billion that can easily be re-devoted to a variety of things, from lumber for NOLA and galvaston, to drug prevention. add on the costs that are saved from policing and other related issues to small marajuana, then add the hemp industry re-vitalization, and subsequents taxation.. more money.

and so much more simple fair issues. of note, day1. sequester congress until the legal rights of gay couples equal that of anyone. doesnt even need to be called "marriage", that way the catholic league cant bitch, but they get rights of transfer in benifits, taxation as couples, full rights of adoption, etc. and if religious right bitches after that, i go on TV and call them all HOMOPHOBES. (sorry, this is an issue i take to heart, i have gay friends and family and at this point, its just stupid that we treat them less than full citizens. blacks had more legal rights inthe 40's)

i view conservative governance much reganism. limiting the scope. uber conservative ideas of religion in gov't, they were implemented by the wrong people over history, look at every one of our founding documents, not once is God mentioned. much like how GW hijcked the republican party. if the government has to spend money en masse on domestic issues, it should be in captiol reinvestment and the attainment of capitol goods.
