Ive read reports he played 'la tour - blue', but i thought it was more like 'life in minds - life on mars'
Yeah that's just reminded me. I thought he played Life On Mars I remember mentioning it to Simonr at the time. But the Evolution Mix of Life On Mars also sounds similar to a track Sasha plays on the Angels Burnley set from 10.06.1995
Just checked out the La Tour -Blue track on YouTube. I think it was more like Evolution Mix of Life On Mars. But they do all sound similar anyway
He played the original mix followed by a remix id never heard before, which was similar but harder beats and more percussion... really tore the roof off!
That has actually put a bit of a downer on it for me. The number of times I have watched the Youtube vid of the Bedrock where he plays it and and thought 'man I want to hear that again' (I was there for that one forunately).
Oh well. Still privileged to have been there and seen what happened

Hopefully he'll have loads of tracks to carry forward to the next Bedrock (I assume that will be around Xmas at Fabric ?).

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
I travelled 2,500km to see this night I waited for 10Y and have to tell you that was probably the worst Digweed I ever heard. number of tracks but no orderand not a thought.
And that was the first time I saw Digweed smiling all night long.
Just want to say a massive thanks to everyone who made last Friday such an amazing night. 9 hours just seemed to fly by, I had fun mixing the old with the new for this night and really needed about 3 more hours to fit in the rest of the classics dug out to play for this night.
Reading all your posts makes it all worthwhile and thanks to all at matter for being so helpful.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Bedrock 10 album now.
Many thanks
John
Bloody hell - 3 x more hours worth of music- That would have taken things til 10.15 a.m. !!

Wow
U were at Matter and not Heaven right?

... out of interest what Digweed sets do you like Foreks ??
For many the mixing was seemless and the blend of tracks (new & old) absolutely inspired. I remember on commenting to Chunky how fresh the old stuff sounded - music can be timeless and the renaissance/NE/Communicate tracks are still awesome today.
Dunno what you were expecting mate ... but sorry you didn't enjoy things.

I too thought Diggers was faultless, mixing was sublime as ever, and he really got to work with that incredible soundsystem which is easily the best in the UK.
Cant wait for the next one at Matter - probably easter?
well, i just landed back home in calgary. talk about a blur of a trip. i still don't even have words for how awesome friday night (and well, WELL into saturday) was.
digweed at several points during the night had me losing it completely. there werent words for what he threw down. utter madness! i got to chat with him at the end (the security were being not so discrete about their desire for us to get the fuck out of the club). told him it was worth the flight from calgary and more, to which he said a big thanks.
thought it was funny when he came on the mic after the last track, which he kinda just faded out...and was like "thanks. i just can't play anymore". think that was the club shutting him down, cause he obviously wanted to keep going!
huge thanks to everyone i met, andy, greg, simon, mo, chris, and anyone i'm forgetting. great group, really looked out for me, being half jet lagged and not used to such an experience.
i will be back!
more later. my 9 and half hour flight back has pretty much destroyed me lol. my back and feet were screwed up after the show, but the flight put me over the top. a hot tub and a beer are in order.
