Multi-talented DJ/producer/remixer SASHA is recognized as one of the worlds’ most innovative icons of the electronic genre. He propels listeners into the future of electronic music by constructing innovative and forward-thinking concept albums (Airdrawndagger, Involver) and live events (Delta Heavy, Fundacion) that blur the boundaries between artist and DJ. In 2004 his work on Involver was nominated for a Grammy Award.
Refusing to limit himself to DJ work, Sasha has continually explored his various interests as an adept remixer, songwriter, and producer. He established himself as a formidable, in-demand remixer by reconstructing tracks from an incredible array of artists such as Depeche Mode, Madonna, Seal, UNKLE, The Chemical Brothers, BT, Thom Yorke, and Orbital.
2007 finds Sasha once again busy in the studio and launching a brand new label. Titled “EmFire”, the imprint will be an exclusive outlet for his own material, which has been co-produced with his renowned collective – Charlie May, Duncan Forbes and Barry Jamieson, aka COMA, a pseudonym that also provides the title for the first release. Three forthcoming Sasha tracks will be released via EmFire on a monthly basis starting with “Coma” in October 2007.
Press Quotes
“As much a Sasha album as it is a mix CD, the superstar British DJ remixes Felix da Housecat, Spooky, and UNKLE, segueing the results in one satisfying set. Hushed Male vocals and despondent yet sensual melodies float over liquid grooves that circumvent trance and electroclash clichés. This is Sasha’s most substantial work in years.”
– ROLLING STONE ««« ½
"The soul-searching, ambient aesthetic and volume of his last artist album, airdrawndagger, is turned up in new tracks that expose a passion for self-awareness through music and the unconscious mind. Confident drum beats, lonely echoes, voices, hooks, guitar strumming and bridges make Sasha's original music a journey like no other. The British dance music icon proves here, yet again, to be an “artist's- artist.” Look for Involver to be a critic's darling as one of dance music's best-ever artist albums."
– VH1
"With Involver, Sasha shows his mastery of a deep and progressive sound, baring his soul in a seamless flow of emotive songs and dubbed out bliss. Involver is an inspired journey. Another classic session from one of the world's finest DJs and a true summer essential."
