Re: Virtual Political Advertising
From Burnout Paradise on XBOX 360 Live:
Barack Obama Advertising Inside Online Racing Video Games, Attempts To Pick Up Crucial Xbox 360 VoteBarack Obama has begun advertising on billboards within the virtual world of an online video game in what appears to be a first for a presidential campaign. Players of the online racing video game Burnout Paradise on the Xbox 360 Live network noticed billboards promoting Barack Obama and the website VoteForChange.com
This is particularly brilliant in that John McCain, who has no idea how to get online, will probably never even learn this is out there... -

^i'm picking up on the sarcasm you're laying down.
it's not that obama is an avid gamer or something, it's that he relates to a different demographic than McCain- young people. and let's just say for a second that, no he doesn't relate to kids and gamers, he's just trying to get the young people's vote. well, hey, at least he's trying.Comment

John McCain is old. He would never do this.http://www.myspace.com/mjdubmusic
You can't have manslaughter without laughter.
"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."Comment

I honestly didn't intend to make a grand political point with this post, though -- I just thought it was a clever, out of the box way to reach younger voters. I'm all for creativity.Comment

Re: Virtual Political Advertising
OK then, the campaign as a whole -- and probably the administration that would follow -- is more in touch with the youth of America than McCain's.
