A new father has secretly named his baby girl Sarah McCain Palin after the Republican ticket for president and vice president.

Mark Ciptak of Elizabethton put that name on the documents for the girl's birth certificate, ignoring the name Ava Grace, which he and his wife had picked earlier.

I don't know which is more shocking: the fact that he branded his child with the name of a political ticket that is likely going to be on the wrong end of a landslide in a few weeks, or the fact that he didn't tell his wife he was going to do it before doing it.

I've got a daughter on the way right now, we've been kicking around names for a while, and if after all of that, I just took a flyer and did something like this, my wife would be PISSED.
