    T-Mobile BLOWS

Not only do they have SHITTY coverage, I first felt that could be overlooked because their customer service was really nice. Well its a damn farce with people trained to merely greet you well in a happy voice and make 2 bid meaningless conversations with little or no willingness to work with you i.e. ZERO customer service OR assistance.

Case and point, my wife has been traveling overseas for 2.5 months and I ended up calling her a LOT from my mobile. A lot equating nearly $900 over a 2 month period.

This number ticks me off for 2 reasons.

Firstly, over the last 2 months, I've paid off $700 to them and merely requested a meager 2 week extension (however no further than my next billing cycle) to pay off the balance. They say, the MAX they are going to give me a 1 week extension and if I need 2 weeks, I have to give them my checking account and my routing number whereby they will automatically deduct that amount from account. HUH?

Firstly, that's way more information I'm willing to give to my cell phone provider just to ensure they get paid in time. Additionally, I'm sure I've highlighted my good faith effort by paying $700 already for them to think I'm going to stiff them for $195. I was so twisted in a knot talking to Maria in their "finance department" that I just couldn't have cared for speaking with her any further. I hung up.

The second reason this $900 number ticks me off is because the basic rate per minute is $1.64 to call India, BUT it is easy for a person with ADD like me to look at their webpage that this rate is applicable to me IF I dont sign up for an "international discounted plan".

But its misleading to post in a neat little box, a rate of $0.30/minute (which is nearly 5 times cheaper) than to call India IF I signed up for that discounted plan. What makes it WORSE is that this very fact their "customer service reps" failed to advise me even when I had discussed my bill with them at the end of the first month, which is not only unhelpful, its downright unethical in my opinion, to allow your customers to get nailed even when you know you have options to guide them with.

Granted my oversight has cost me but in the name of true "customer support", isn't it even partially their responsibility to advise a customer of possible avenues to reduce such massive expenses.

Its not even like I wanted an escape from my payment, all I wanted was an extension but of course if the payment isnt made within a certain time, the phone's automatically switched off and a $20 fee is applicable.

This is the last of my business T-Mobile will earn. Will be moving to a different carrier regardless of how pathetic the other one will be.

Seriously man that sucks!! I use something called WQN - its like a prepaid calling service but you can set speed dials such that in two touches of your phone you're connected to the other end. I pay about 30 cents/min for India.

If it makes you feel any better, I just learned yesterday that I'll be dropping 3.3 G's on dental surgery over the next few months!! :-( And this is after dropping $$ on CDJ's the weekend before!

Well, those CDJs better work well coz I'm going to be getting to know them VERY well, shacked up at home over the next several months!

I dont have that kind of problem, but I do have a communications problem. T-mobile sucks asss when it comes to miss calls, voicemails... I get them the following day and sometimes like in 3 days.

Calls drop, the phone freezes up... and it aint the phone!!!! Thats what they always say.. "maybe its your phone".. "its older, get a new one".. blah blah blah, MAYBE ITS YOUR SHITTY SERVICE MOTHERFUCKER!!

I think I'll be switching over to AT & T. My buddy said it comes with international calling... and being that I'll be heading out to Kenya next year for 3 weeks... I might just do this!

I might need it as Im running away from cheetahs!

mmm well, i used to have sprint/nextel, so T-mobil was a huge upgrade.

service is not that bad, customer service is not that bad either, you just have to be on the look out for the special deals on their plans.

I had the same probelm with them, I explained it to the customer service rep, she transfered me to a tech who solved the problem within 10 minutes. I had flawless service with them for 4 years. Making calls in Europe was never an issue. It's just about a Dollar a minute. You're better off getting a pre paid sim card in an unlocked GSM phone as far as rates.
I had to leave them when I got my iPhone. I now have At&t and absolutely HATE them... SO it goes to show that not all people are happy with their carries.

I had Sprint, they sucked.. terrible customer service, couldnt get a signal within a 3 block radius from my house and they offered me no help in upgrading my phone with out extending my service plan

anyone i know with t-mobile around here has awful coverage and missed calls, missed messages, etc..

i have had at&t for almost 2 years, no issues what so ever
i think i could be in a bomb shelter and still have signal

thats verizon..... they truly are the masters of "Can you hear me now". We went to a campground in the hills of MD/WV and my Tmo phone lost all coverage 5 miles before we hit the base of the hill where this campground was, wifey's verizon phone had 4 out of 5 bars (we discussed that fact to death is how I remember)

sadly verizon and far eastern brands cant get out of their one night stands.... rarely does verizon get a phone I really want

Their customer service is shite!! (At least that is the experience I've had) I had to call, was placed on hold, disconnected, called again and waited so they can "approve" me for international calling. My fist bill was $ 452.00 for 2 iPhones... the bill was prorated. I had them when they were singular, my bill was never the same. I was overcharged several times. It's really sad that T-mobile couldn't take car of you. They were nothing but helpful to me. even when I locked my phone in England and I forgot my code. I e-mailed them, and my phone was unlocked within 2 hours.

tmobile is proving that their customer support is very helpful with irrelevant stuff.
ME: "Hi! Can you show me the way to the bathroom"
