OK so last night the unthinkable happened.

Kasey Taylor played in wellington.

Now I would like to state for the record, that i am very disappointed in my fellow welligntonians.

He played for less than 20 people, and im not joking. I was fuckig astounded. Basically the promotors dropped the ball. I found out through a friend that he was playing a week before the event.

The surprise of the evening was some guy called martin who was playing before KT with ableton and a controller... Seriously some of the best nice techy prog ive heard in a fucking long time.

I couldnt believe that the dance floor cleared, leaving literally me and my gf as the only ones... KT was playing just for us... for only 10$...

i mean seriously, what the fuck is going on...

hoestly, i couldnt fucking believe it... although, at least the sound system and the club are of top quality... Lee Burridge ad nick warren were packed to the gunnals

I'm sure it's part & parcel for him, as he's not what you would call an A list DJ. He probably didnt mind too much?Gives him a chance to experiment with his set?

there have been a few shows here in Nola where the same thing happend. Digweed plyed here a year or so ago for about 60 peeps

Admittedly, Nick was a couple years ago, but its more of an example of how aweseom that club can be - Danny Howells on the 9th coming up - woo!

We recently had anthony pappa, phil K, BLIM and more that my munter brain enjoyed seeing, but cant remember seeing... If you catch my drift...

Sounds like an almost uncomfortable small turnout for a good dj. I have been to a few shows over the years here in minneapolis where some very elite djs played to very small crowds...

Always makes you wonder about the promoter and how in the hell they were able to get this Big DJ to play their club. You'd think for all the $$ the DJ's get, you'd wanna promote the shit out of the gig to get your $$ back from it and manybe even try to make a bit of $ from it....or a lot.

OK, see heres the thing. KT was invited by the organisers of the parihaka peace festival. Something that is way more reggae and wide eyed hippies and maybe psytrance kinda thing.... Ummm, KT? Thats a weird choice. If it was marketed under KT and not that festival, then we might have something... It was too confusing for the punters, lots of who wouldnt even know who kt was if they were on the bus next to him... A similar thing happened last time (and ill bet is really was the last time) Steve Lawler came... there were fuck all people there as it was promoted like shit and too many comps were given out... Such a shame.
