I have a promo copy of this, but haven't got my copy it yet, and i have to say i am throughly pleased with this comp. Bedrock has been my favorite label for years and am glad to see them releasing new material and the remixes of the older tracks are amazing. Plus having them mixed be Diggers is even better.

How is that measurement made? The 220 I mean. Is it like movies that release on a Wednesday at midnight and count that in the first-weekend of sales which helps drive the hype?

If this was released on a Friday - is 220 a fair count? Does it also count for online sales, or physical scans of some type?

I agree with the sentiments about illegal downloading, but a large majority of music sales have gone online as well. iTunes is the biggest music store in the freaking world. Beatport drives a lot of electronic releases. Does the 220 mean that there weren't a million of the Estroe track purchased online? 220 is for full packaged release right?

I'm sure Digweed doesn't make a killing on CD's, especially with as much as he can charge playing out. I know he loves the music, but I'm sure that isn't the only thing that keeps him out touring when he can make a killing on live performance. It's been that way across the industry for years. It's why Dylan still tours, etc.

I ordered mine of Bedrock, and I live in the U.S. I have been burnt by dodgy descriptions on Amazon and wanted mine to have whatever nice packaging UK releases seem to have. I happened to be lucky enough to get a signed copy, although I wasn't counting on it.

Dittos on everyone's comments on the release. It's a great multi disc set with some great mixes on it.
may the groove be with you

Don't they owe me something ?

Sure, I see that point. I also think about all the music I've bought and all shows I've attended, rather good or bad. But I think the artists do quite alot to give back to us for doing so. Think about all the music on this board alone that you have access to, and that the artist and djs have permitted you to have and own and share this music till your heart's content. We hear about it when they don't want it shared or recorded, usually. I mean Digweed gives us two hours worth of free tunage every week and he knows it's being recorded and downloaded. There's more music available for free than you could ever have time to listen to.

I've been burned many times buying shitty cds and that's why I don't feel the slightest bit bad about downloading a promo or even the album itself for preview. And hey, some live sets are better than cd's I admitt, but it's the cd's that have more thought, determination, and process behind them. From the producers and djs to the cd packaging and the designer/s bedhind it, there's alot of artistic meaning to consider and that's something I'm very willing to pay money for.

Plus on a personal note, I'm a collector of edm. I've hunted down and gone to great lengths to obtain certain cds just for the sake of having them. If you could see how meticulous I am with this shit, you'd think I was nut's. I'm surprise my gf doesn't get jealous.

Music is the answer, to your problems. Keep on movin', till you solve them.

But then there's a cost, and realistically how many fans are ther that actually buy the music these days ?

Exclusivity could be key - the intesting thing is that Sasha's avalon CD's fetch a packet on e-bay because of their limited release.
          I still buy CDs....

Sasha's avalon cd was selling on ebay at stupid amounts of money (£40ish), when it was still available to buy from Tesco's! It's bugger all to do with it's limited nature, and everything to do with the fact that there are a lot of idiots out there....

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Yeah I think i've still got one Bedrock Black Vinyl. Before seeing that record, I didn't even know Bedrock had a separate label.
