I agree the US still is the land of opportunity but with Martial Law on the horizon and with financial criminals still out there running your markets it is getting hard to say that you guys are a free society. I mean you guys are fighting for Iraq to be free yet nobody is fighting on the homeland to secure your freedoms. Do you know that Bush is trying to make himself immune from punishment in the future for the torturing and rendition that has been going on?? I mean Jesus you guys have lost your way over the last decade and with these two candidates I see before me it is going to be another bad four years.
seems like you have an issue with Bush. He does not represent all of us.

I live free as hell where I am. This is a country where someone can put a doll of a VP candidate hanging in a noose in front of their house. How can one say we are not free?

I travel quite a bit for work, and I'm struck by how diverse a nation we are. I've lived on the east coast, the west coast, and in the midwest, and they all have their own distinct vibe. And from a pure geology standpoint, whether you want hot, cold, rugged, lush, tropical, or desert, we've got it. Really cool when you think about it...

i too have spoken with friends in europe and none of them have brought up the subject of race. the ones i have spoken with seem worried of what will happen to the markets once he gets ellected and also seem to think that all he does is feed people bullshit.

Re: katrina - im fuckin sick and tired of hearing people say that the blacks were left there stranded and how people were treated. everyone was told to evacuate. i have family who evacuated. the ones (majority blacks) who stayed behind did so of their own choosing and with other purposes in mind (see looting, etc).

EDIT: in b4 shosh is racist

The majority of those people that didn't evacuate:

            1. Had nowhere to go
            2. Couldn't leave, didn't have the means to
            3. They're called poor people, it's it's called poverty

Actually there were buses there for them to get them out. Being poor is one thing, but being stupid is another. Using an excuse of being poor to keep yourself in harms way is stupid. They had transportation available for them to evacuate.

this could be a blanket statement for any politician

and dont you think McCain choosing some tart as his running mate was a load a bullshit he tried to shove down the country's throat? do you really think he looked around and said, yeah, she's the BEST qualified I can come up with for my potential VP

as far as the african american thing goes.. it blows me away how much open racism there is in europe, so it doesnt surprise me that it is looked at in that regard

^^ Some would debate that. You obviously don't know about the voting controversies in the last election.

Yes, America has problems just like other nations. Guess what, world: life is not perfect here. But life is also much worse in many other areas of the world; we can still be thankful for all that we have.

We get good coverage here and everyone I know thinks that Obama not only will win, but that he should. The astounding thing to me is that he and Cain/Palin are so close in the polls . I really hope it turns out to be a landslide.
President Obama does sound just a tad strange in comparison to your usual president names. Definitely not a bread and butter name!

If it was a fair election everyone would be able to vote and you would get a receipt of who you voted for. I can't believe that the US still after all these elections can't count. I still think McCain might win because shit Kerry beat Bush last time and Bush was President. The election machines are rigged.
