I think this is kinda a hair-splitting semantic thing. Tolerance, acceptance, pot-A-to, pot-aa-to. Race relations are still not where they should be, but it isn't the difference between these two words, it's the difference between viewing one another as part of a whole or as separate cultures that have been foisted upon one another. Do I look at my neighbor as "the black guy that lives next door" or "Charles?" It makes a difference, and that's the goal, regardless of whether you call it tolerance, acceptance, whatever.

well just like what Palin said about gay rights... she said she can "tolerate them" but do you honestly think that that jesus freak likes gay people?

if you voted in mccain and palin, you could say goodbye to any shot at gay rights or abortion rights. another justice would be planted, and somehow, they would just deny GLBT existence like iran denies gay ppl existing.

mccain is so far lost in hiw own parties stupidity that if he won, if would be because Jesus Christ himself descended from heaven, proved he was God, and placed mccain in world leadership. but i have a better chance of flying wihtout external aid than that.

judging by what happened in 2000, anything can happen. only way we can be certain that Obama wins is a day or two (hopefully) after mass voting has finished.

Again, I think this is all just word-wrangling. Is "tolerance," as a concept, the same thing as Sarah Palin being "tolerant" of gay people? I don't think they are the same thing. It really doesn't matter, though, because we all know what she means when Palin talks about "tolerating" gay people.
