Pretty much, gosh.. I hope so..
There is still the old Circus which used to be promoted by the old Spundae and GIANT back in the day when top trance came through every week.
Now we have some old trance heads that promote this, but I wont go.

Bure: You gotta be kidding me.. there are way more events happening every week than you know about.
not sure what you mean.. only howells, digweed etc..
uber trancy kinda progressive is dying.. but all the good music IMO can be found at one-off events, or semi-monthlies

^ Yeah, Im pretty sure there are.. I think I might have jumped the gun.. I really dont have time to go out 4 nights out of the week. or even 2 nights to tell ya the truth.

Im still looking for a place that plays good house music on a regular basis that I know wont dissapoint...

There was one place long ago that I went to every Wednesday night for 2 straight years! It was an all 80's/new wave night. the 2 dj's played the best obscure and popular tracks, but they mixed it sooooo damn welll.. flawless like Digweed, but just 80's... oh I want a deep house night like that!

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

              1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
              2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
              3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
              4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

              Am I close here?

because trix are for kids. massives still happen, not weekly.

I would hardly call this a revolution, the circus comes to town but once a year.

damn i haven't been really clubbing in a couple years now i have no idea what's going on in LA. i like the weekday thangs except i've transitioned to strictly a weekend warrior. MNS was always good. King King is cool too. then other than the big clubs like Avalon, Vanguard that seems to be it?

Good calendar for underground stuff http://www.subversivela.com/ (doesn't list stuff at major clubs like Avalon, Vanguard though)
I also check http://www.going.com for more scene, hipster, electro type stuff
Resident Adviser event calendar has been spot on too.

A Google map I maintain on the venues I go to...

AVALON Hollywood is a historic nightclub and special events space located in Los Angeles near the intersection of Hollywood and Vine.

On January 15, 2000, Giant debuted as a weekly Saturday club night and positioned Los Angeles as a tour stop for international dance music DJs and Artists that had not previously existed on a weekly basis.
