never was a trekkie, but this was rly well done and entertaining movie - start to finish. the sound editing and action sequences topped the richter in my book, and they even injected a good amount of humor in it as well.

I rarely go to a movie theater unless it's "there will be blood" or "no country for old men" or "lord of the rings." This was a great movie theater movie, looking fwd to seeing it a second time!

i just got back from this and it was great ...the script was excellent in restarting the franchise ... in comparison to retelling the story from the start like last the 3 Star Wars movies did, this is much better than those 3 movies put together imo
only thing was that I thought Chris Pine's Captain Kirk could be slightly campier and be closer to Shatner's original but the rest of the casting were great and close to the originalI broke my spoon on the viagra sundae.Comment

Pleasantly surprised with this one, thought the movie was well done start to finish. The plot was a bit of a stretch (then again, this is star trek) but as long as you don’t try and pick all the flaws and holes in the story, you should enjoy it. Special effects were some of the best I’ve seen, the music/sound fx were also really top notch – especially for a big budget sci-fi film. The cast was the strong point though, all the major players did their part very well. Simon Pegg as Scotty was fantastic, thought Chris Pine as Kirk had the right mix of humor/douchebag and the girl who played Uhura was not only an absolute, drop dead smokeshow but did very well with a pretty one dimensional role.
Overall 4.5/5
Also – the IMAX version I saw ran an extended trailer for Transformers 2. One comment: Megan Fox on an IMAX screen is going to be living proof that God exists and wants us to be happy.Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not;
a sense of humor to console him for what he is.Comment
