    FAO Clinton Family

Regarding this whole SOS fiasco, this is why "Clinton Fatigue" has made an appearance as a new term this election season. Is it possible to have something involving the Clintons without all this drama? FFS, you've been offered Secretary of State, Hillary -- either take it, or don't, but dragging this out with this whole will-I-or-won't-I, let's-negotiate-about-how-much-I-let-you-vet-me bullshit is just exhausting.

This is why you lost, too, because people know that you put your own interests above all else, all the time.

^ i'm concurrent with that. it would show nice sportsmanship if he did pick her, but with regards to making a wise and intelligent choice, i say don't bolster her adamant egoisms by requesting her. also, would not her addition spark festering amounts of conflict in the forthcoming cabinet perhaps?

btw., one of the claims that my republican parents have been dishing at me, is that prejudgment that obama is choosing all the old clinton exponents. so what's the word on that? they also think it is to get even and or balance the causes made by bush(?) ... oh and fox news is thier default for news coverage, lol.

There's this, though -- if he doesn't include her in the cabinet, who knows what shenanigans she'd be up to to bolster her own situation in the next four years. Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer, ya know?

Re Obama picking Clinton people for cabinet positions, there's obviously a desire for some fresh blood, but if you disqualify everyone that has any sort of relationship with the Clintons, you're going to knock out a lot of qualified people and alienate a large number of people that you need to govern effectively. I'm reserving judgment on this until I see the final makeup of his cabinet.

kk i see. one thing that has me piqued and contemplating is the whole powell thing; that has serious ramifications if obama spontaniously, and on a whim, chooses to pick him right? also it was pretty big news when powell endorsed obama... are those motives clear btw.?

oh and im actually kinda pleased on him choosing tom daschle.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."
