Get into your itunes and download the Joachim Garraud VIDEO Podcasts. In it you will find one called Making of Invasion Part 7. Which has an interview with Laidback Luke in his studio. In there you will see him working with FL and you will see that you too can create some awesome stuff with that program.

nowadays, i think it really just comes down to personal preference. Me personally I like Ableton Live, as it gives me a chance to kind of improvise my tracks before I arrange them, it has a freedom that is kinda like playing with a live band.

Try Reason, I used FL for about 2 years until I discovered Reason. Ableton Live is good but I never got into it, I've read that Ableton Live is really good for mixing and many good djs use it but it wasn't conceived for mixing electronic music.

Reason V 4.0, I love this program, I had a shitty Emu Keyboard with 49 keys, I plug it in and use it with reason and I feel like Bach with his organ. There's a demo for it.

            cheers

Even though I discovered Reason I still enjoy using FL from time to time. Do you use Deckadance?

Nope, never used that program. Isn't that for DJ'ing? I use Ableton for all my stuff.

                    Re: Fl 8

I think u should try first to master FL before looking at other programs, I've worked with FL and Reason in the past and work with Cubase for about 6 years now, somethimes I help other people with their logic setup.

The main reason i made the switch to cubase is simple the fact that using hardware worked better for me in cubase than in FL or Reason, i found reason to be a very nice tool, but really missed the fact that u can not use VST plugins inside, i don't know if that has changed since the last time i worked with it, but that was the key reason why i don't work with it anymore and i hate using 2 sequencers at the same time via rewire, that is just creating more problems than sollutions.

At the end, there is no better program, it's all about what works best for you.
Nowadays the quality of every single sequencer out there can be called professional...

And u know what they say: It's the Chef that counts, not the kitchen...

Why would you wanna MASTER a program and then move on to another program. It doesn't make sense. Once you have mastered the program, you will have no need for anything else. Just ask Laidback Luke, who used FL8 like it's Logic. I doubt you'll ever see him using anything different.

Well i ment, before u can decide what works for you, you have to work with a program for some time, and see what it is all about.

For instance, i worked with FL2 for some time, and found out that it missed some key functions i needed for properly creating music, so i moved on, but at the end the basics of all those programs and the creating of music is the same in every program, it just has a different view or has different names in the program, but if u start, u should at least try some stuff out within your program

Yeah I totally understand that bro. I doubt i'll ever master using Ableton. Especially when they keep updating it with tons of cool new things.

Hell yeah! I just bought cubase 5, before i worked with sx2, such a huge difference in tools now, don't think I've gotten into 10% of the new features the program brings...

                            Just keep on struggling....
