personally i think the album is way over produced ... axel over did it but still its more than decent album imo compared to most of the stuff out these days however every song is an opus on its own and trying too hard to be November Rain

I cant believe they are trying to make a comeback. Was never a true GnR fan, liked a few tracks from Appetite, but thought all their stuff afterwards was top 40 crap, especially November Rain and the likes. Matter of fact, I gave up on Metallica when they joined tours with GnR, one of the biggest sell outs in metal history. Im suprised your even interested Corven, makes me wanna

Appetite was their best album. Every song from that was $$...This new album was way over hyped.

Doubt I'll even listen to it. When I wanna hear GNR i'll go listen to AFD. Personally I think Axl never meant to release the album, but his label saw that tracks were being leaked and make an exec decision that if he wouldn't release it they would, just so they could make SOME money off it with all the leaking that has been going on.

no one in the band is from the original lineup except axl.

appetite is a phenomenal record.
the band was never the same after Izzy left - he was the main creative force (besides Axls lyrics).

This new record is the first Axl solo record IMO - overall its pretty good. But when you consider there is about 1 track per year of output here - its not the opus it should be.

Its certainly not horrible but its no where near Appetite.

It's a reasonable effort ... and given that its taken 14-years to finalise its makes Sasha seem prolific.

There are some very good moments ... If Axl's ego hadn't outgrown G'n'R and the line up remained intact, then (with the assistance of a decent producer) this could have been brilliant.

The guitar playing (whichever of the 6+ guitar players it is) ain't bad - I assume the sweep picked arpeggios and fast stuff is c/o the legendary buckethead:
