    Mushroom Jazz Series -- Recommendations?

Been listening to Farina's Mushroom Jazz Series today, and I gotta say, with the exception of number 2, it is completely scratching me where I itch today. Anyone have any recommendations for other artists or CD series that bring together a similar combination of jazz, rap/hip-hop, and downtempo electronica?

Tosca is great, really like the chocolate elvis album. Herbaliser has a bit more of the hip hop side but similar and really good. DJ Cam, DJ Food, DJ Vadim are all ace.

Hey bro, Check out People Under The Stairs, Mark really likes them. Also, hit up the "trip hop" and "chilled hip hop" threads here too.

Here's People Under the Stairs - "Schooled in the Trade" -- one of my all time favorite tracks, with those combos.

Cool, thanks all -- am familiar with most of these, all good, although there's a few here I'll need to check out. I'll say this, though -- there is something about Farina's sound that is very distinct. It's not just jazz-influenced hip-hop, or downtempo, or chill, or trip-hop, it really is a unique blend of all of it -- haven't really found anything else that brings it all together quite the same way.

Re: Mushroom Jazz Series -- Recommendations?

When I was in Los Angeles I was shopping on Melrose Ave. and they were playing a chillout mix called "You Got's To Chill Vol. 1" by DJ Gabriel DIggs in the store where I was shopping. I think the shop was called iVogue. Anyway this mix they were playing was amazing! I own the Mushroom Jazz series and I'm always looking for more music like this so I picked up "You Got's To Chill Vol. 1" I asked the store owner where I could find more mixes from the DJ since the mix was very well put together. He told me that DJ Gabriel Diggs has a whole series! I did some searching online and found his website. I think he just released Vol. 4 which I picked up along with Vol. 2 and 3 and in my opinion they're all as good if not better than the Mushroom Jazz series! If you're looking for a really good mix of chill out and hip hop I highly recommend. Here's the link to the page where I found the CD's: http://www.gabrieldiggs.com/releases.html I can't wait for Vol. 5!!!
