    The traditional english pubs are becoming less and less .. especially in this economy. I work in Yorkshire, so there are still a few decent boozers - just hope Neil Morrisey and his sidekick don't gastro-pub them all.

        yeah it's sad how many boozers are shutting down - only the massive (crap) ones that belong to wetherspoons etc seem geared to survive. it's same as supermarkets puttin the squeeze on your local corner shop/market i suppose eh?
        i live in a town where prob half population are students so they are well catered for with big, shit, discount places to go out but it's the places with character and atmosphere that are dying - backward eh?.......
        olde towns always have a decent pub or two tucked away but newbuild=shite in my opinion
        fuck the banks gordon - prop up the leisure industry with your (sorry our) money
