I only went this year for a couple small items; pulled into Circuit City, got to the back of the line just as they were letting people in...was in and out of the store in ~10 minutes. Went home. Not worth it anymore and the steals are long gone, sans the "usual" TV & laptops (of which many are lower grade anyway)FM

if you read the articles about this, the problem was that the customers ripped the doors off thier fucking hinges.
I think anything short of using Blackwater would not have helped against this clearly unruly crowd.
By the way, the reports indicate that because Wal-Mart had all of thier employees at work that morning, they decided they still needed more help: so this guy signed up. That to me is shitty, because he signed on to work and wasn't even a full-time employee. That should at least tell you that Wal-Mart had thier cards in order and simply didn't anticipate the vicious energy of the crowd, and they clearly were not 'understaffed'.
