    Scope: Port Maria EP [Urban//Torque]

    Scope: Port Maria EP

    1. Diyisi
    2. Landslide

Fresh from the celebrated release of his extended EP ‘Studio Sessions Vol. 1’ and the brilliant ‘Omoplata’, his first release on NRK, Ric McClelland shows that there’s still plenty more left in the locker. In fact, the young Irishman continues to go from strength to strength, and the ‘Port Maria EP’ is an astoundingly deep and impressively mature delivery of perceptively-crafted emotive house music.

    1. ‘Diyisi’ – Straight-up beats against graceful, ethereal melodies, charming piano and sweeping, bracing chords collude to dispense a thoroughly persuasive incitement to feel good.

    2. ‘Landslide’ – Emphatically captivating; yearning vocal calls, tension-building strings, and a magical hint of Celtic influence are all set astride a bass-heavy groove on this wonderfully deep cut.

Inspired by the "proper" House sound and artists such as Kerri Chandler thru to Funk D'Void, his sound as Scope is clearly focused on grooves & melody. Scope's arrival on the global House scene was marked early in 2007 with his
debut "Strung Out" ep on Urbantorque, which received massive support across the board. With plays from Fish Go Deep to Sander Kleinenberg, Jimpster to Deep Dish. Now a familiar name with many of his contemporaries, he has remixed many of House music's top names including Francois Dubois, Physics, Milton Jackson & Audio Soul Project.
With releases out on top labels such as Urbantorque, NRK, Large Music, Forensic & Plastic City. Scope's sound is pushing the boundaries of Electronic Dance music, whilst gaining worldwide recognition as a key figure in the scene! With the ‘Port Maria EP’ arriving hot on the heels of the exciting extended EP project, ‘Studio Sessions Volume 1’, the future is looking very rosy for the man from Belfast.
