              Re: The future of EDM

All reports from his Sydney set said it was a flawless performance (joke).

              I wasn't there personally...

Almost everyone said it didn't have the Sasha magic he had during his ADD tour.

Perhaps it was his style changing or the laptop , who can say. He seemed to have a total blast during his set which can't be a bad thing.

I was there... standing about two metres behind the person taking that photo. Sasha didn't touch a CD or record once - it was the first "all Ableton" set he'd done.

As a result, it's not fair to judge it in the same way as other DJ sets from a technical standpoint - it was technically perfect. Layers and elements of different tracks just completely invisibly blended together. Programming-wise though, I thought it was poor. Not a touch on Airdrawn. That said, most people disagree with me on that. I felt it lacked those "Sasha moments" and the lack of decks took some of that away as well.

The vibe was absolutely insane though.. it was rammed to the rafters, our local lads (Ben Korbel and Robbie Lowe specifically) did AWESOME sets and Groove Armada had been doing gigs over the weekend which meant plenty of munted groovers kicking on afterwards at the GA afters. Sasha popped into that as well for a while, but the real winner was the excellent vibe all round. Had an excellent time.

Don't recall what the track was, but I think you can see two of the levels are up just left of centre. Not much laptop activity at that point actually, but that was a rarity. He was working damn hard at the time.. nearly 7 days ago to the hour actually.

from one point i dont care with what he plays as long as the music is great and makes me dance like crazy... BUT in that case dj's could only record their sets and just press a play button and that's not what going to a club is about is it?
                              ...enjoy every single second
