anyone have any regrets in life?

not so much on the petty daily things, but more on the bigger picture. like the choices you made that have altered the path in life youve taken..

man i just found out one of my friends is moving to Colorado for the winter to "work", then off to hawaii to do a work/study program (going on his 3rd year in a row for semi interesting things to take up his time). im happy for him but jealous at the same time.. the only responsibility he has is to make sure hes got clean undies on & his screen isnt clogged.

shit i went straight from college into the full time workforce of corporate america @ a fairly young age.. more less cause i was hungry for money & having things.. come to find out, money & stuff is nice but surely not the end all be all... now ive got all these responsibilities & feel tied down.. granted i lvoe my wife, but part of me kinda wishes, now, i would have explored more of whats out in the world rather than "getting paid" & settling down.

at the time when i decided to slow it down, i was tired of always being on the road, out partying every nite till 7 in the morn, & never having shit.

but then again, no matter where i am in life, im always the one thinkin & wondering if the grass is greener on the otherside.... no matter which side im on....

well my friend you are living your life. how it is supposed to be lived is entirely up to you. there is no constant unless you want one. your wife, well she should be the first dedication in your life. and there is nothing wrong with saying "Honey, let's get butt naked and go for a road trip. I do not care where we go, but let's just go." I find in life if you follow a certain order it goes against nature's rules. Mankind is too rule oriented. Let go of all systems and just be. whatever that be may be. make sense?

I give you one goal. Do something new and fun, and enchant yourself with life outside of yours. I know you have not done everything.

A very wise person once told me that it's just a waste of time to keep thinking on what if's, just focus on where you want to be and how to get there from where you are.

It's not an easy thing to do sometimes, but it helps when you just can't get your mind off from those thoughts. Think about what can you do to change where you are, what you're doing, instead of what would things be if you've done things differently, think about things you can change instead of those you can't.

I regret not going for a better degree in college; while the Communications degree made me a better person, it isn't exactly getting me a nice-paying job right now... :P

By the same token, I have enjoyed the things I've done, but could have done FAR more had I been able to get some good work coming out of college...not these slave-labor simplistic jobs...

So, now I sit on the crossroads of life with 300 different directions pointing at me and having NO clue which one to take...only knowing of where I want to end up.

In the meantime, I go have some solace in the club.

Just think you have alot more than others so be grateful for waht you have.
The grass looks greener for most people (including myself), but please do think of others less fortunate when these regrets come into your mind then you might feel a whole lot happier with what you do have!

regretting some part of your life is a waste of time, if you believe in time that is. everything happens for a reason and there is reason why we end up where we are in life. i have no regrets for the things that i have or haven't done with my life. trying to change that is a real waste of the moment that i have here on this planet. 2 cents

thrua - clever piece of knowledge..

well its not that i dont like what i have goign for me now, im just rethinking things about if i should make a life change. ive been stewing on this for a while.. prolly most of it has to do with the rules set forth by corp america & all the BS that goes along with my job & daily commute. but i know im preaching to the choir about the corp america knobfest.

                      thanks for the replies.

I regret moving back to Boston sometimes. I had plans to go to UC Davis, had my first apt signed into lease with my best friend, all our friends were going to UCD and living in the same area. Then I got out of it all and moved back to the east coast to help my mother since she needed back surgery...i moved back 3 yrs ago and she still hasnt had the surgery I left a perfect life only to come here and be poor and not know what to do with myself.

                            Oh well.
