Thanks for reprinting my answers Btw I have posted links in this thread. Look Harder
My bad, I guess I skipped over it.
Anyway, so I looked at the statistics which were from 7-13 states, then I looked at the 2005 stats from the CDC. approximately 35k people died from guns in the US. 50-60% of those were suicide. That leaves about 17k gun deaths...out of a population, i don't know, let's say of 250 million for that time. That's roughly .000068% of that theoretical population. This is hardly an epidemic. This is nothing more than a scare tactic. Even if you could spread those numbers to all 50 states, you'd have roughly .02% of the population dying from firearms. Sorry, but this 'incredible stats of homicide deaths' is pure BS. As for suicides? Well, the government isn't in the job of babysitting everyone's emotions.
Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so.

^^ Ok just keep killing yourselves and each other with guns. Your statistics are appalling in both areas.

^ lol at nationalism.
sovereign borders etc. really don't exist anymore, and "america" is just the (most synthetic) centrifugal and centripetal hub in this violent world -- we all know that. blame human nature and weaknesses; not a select "country" and those conservative/constitutional values.

Localizer, it's not even a liberal vs. conservative thing. I'm a pretty liberal guy, but of the educated type, so I think it's more like what you said with it just being a lack of historical perspective. But whatever, this thread isn't going to change any minds or policies, clearly.
"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."
You can't change history, you can all have a hand in changing the future if the will is there, and that seems to be lacking here . AlI I have seen is justification or even worse total denial of what is happening

^ another vain assumption.
appearances are usually deceiving.
you can't jump to conclusions/pass judgments and make hints that a person is living in denial, or about what they actually think, know and do -- across the internet and type.
i for one am not justifying killing or in denial of the reality of the issue. in fact, i'm unduly sympathetic and conscious in full with the epic sorrow and suffering due to gun violence . it is sickening what chaos and atrocities are ensuing the world over, due to firearms. ther is no doubting that. that doesn't mean goodness has to relinquish its sword, not never.

those pic were for the laughs btw.
sry.
I am not jumping to conclusions, I am responding to actual words typed here. As I said before, I am not being judgmental! I just want things to be better than they are, and the only way that can happen is if people look forward instead of backwards. All the way through this I have been putting up facts and responding to the actual things people say. No assumptions at all! And trying to keep on actual topic.
When people chose to say there isn't a problem when the facts and figures clearly say there is, don't you think that is denial?? Go back objectively and see how many people have chosen not to address the real issues.

If this is the way you feel we are essentially in agreement. It's a shame you didn't put this up earlier, because I can only base my responses on what you have said here. Wouldn't want to make assumptions would we. ?

It's everywhere It seems mans inhumanity to man knows no bounds at the moment.
Lucky Charms, thank you ,
staying completely open, patient and optimistic is the key to understanding right?
