with a PC, you probably have firewire, but it's called IEE something. Well it is firewire, but with a different connection, so you just need the adapter and then plug it in and you load up the software that came with it.Comment

Re: Recording from a Korg zero 8 mixer to pc????
alittle late responding on this as i've been without the internet for a month because verizon kept screwing up the work order. I have a zero 4 and set it up the following way.
if you didnt figure it out yet. you need to set up channels 7/8 to play out the master in zero edit. i use goldwave to record my mixes. what ever program your using should recognize the korg's soundcard for the input signal and you should be good to go.I Love LampComment

Re: Recording from a Korg zero 8 mixer to pc????
Anyone know how to stop the crackles and pops with this setup. I have a pretty new machine with 3 gigs of ram and a quad core so I'm surprised I can't fix this... HALPComment

have you checked your audio Buffer in your audio settings for this piece of equipment? Anytime you have a sound interface, you will have a buffer that will need to be tweaked, move it to have more buffer power...which results in more latency. But if you are using the firewire, you won't have much latency anyway. If you are using USB you are going to need more buffer.Comment

Re: Recording from a Korg zero 8 mixer to pc????
Yeah I've got the buffer settings up as high as they will go in Zero Edit. Though in Traktor's audio settings it won't let me adjust the latency there... I'll try to grab a new firewire cable I guess and see if that fixes it. Maybe it has to do with me running Vista, I know it doesn't play well with most audio...Comment

Re: Recording from a Korg zero 8 mixer to pc????
ahh, so you are using a win machine. So you are using a FW with a WIN machine. You might be using up too many resources when using your music software, which can cause glitches. Have you tried setting up your computer to have the best performance it can get.
Get to My Computer and click properties, then go to the advanced tab, click the performance settings button, and set the visual effects to be for best performance, and it'll really reduce your load on your ram. As I know Vista really uses a ton of ram just to run it.Comment

Re: Recording from a Korg zero 8 mixer to pc????
Okay my idiot self has figured it out. I guess there's two options that say Korg for the soundcard that I can choose in Traktor. Of course I had the wrong one selected.
Works flawlessly now, thanks!Comment
