Back to work on the 5th jan?

After 11 months off work due a near fatal accident at work i'm forced back
to work on the 5th of Jan due to being financially ruined. If it wasnt for my mother and father i think me and the bread knife would of lost the house months ago. I've had no help from the company i work for they haven't been in contact to see if i'm on the mend yet they expect me to go straight back to what i was doing when we got hit by a 44 tonne wagon/lorry at 56mph.
I'm a bit nervous on what to expect when i get back on monday but we'll see what they propose to me in terms of how they are gonna gently get me back into the routine?
I cant just walk away from the job as there is no jobs at the mo and i dont think there will for the next 18 months at least plus its very good money and if you make good money you get used to living a certain way?

I really hope your first day back goes well and that the plan they have created for you to adjust back into your role goes well. Just remember not to overdue it and don't put yourself in a situation where you will hurt or strain any of your injuries.

Hey Maff mate i totally agree with what DQ said. Take it easy. Sorry to hear the company has not looked after u. don't u guys have work cover or anything over there? I mean u were doing your job and it did happen while u were doing it.. yes def lets us know how it goes. And remember u can always come back to OZ if u want

man, im supposed to go back on the 5th, but i remember that techically, the 5th is actually my last day of leave.... hmmm, i think that the phone will be turned off tomorrow morning...

As for you mate, remember no amount of money is worth personal suffering (unless you are in the Jackass crew) no matter how good the $$$ are, there are plenty of other jobs out there eventually...

yeah, i took off 10 outta the last 14 work days simply cuz i had them running out. thinking about the reality come monday sux ass. my girl ridiculously smart, beautiful, and cool girlfriend as well had 7 of 14 off and we spent a ton of time together, so last 2 weeks are essentially vacation living in NY near city. did tons of things like MOMA and other art museums, visits to the historical islands and nice eateries, indie music shows, and a whole lotta football(she is a die hard fan)........and this is killing me cuz every day im having a blast..........

wow it just hit me even harder the real world arrives monday morning.

Good luck for Monday, Maff. I am sure after being such a long time away you have a lot of things to catch up with and lots of things will be new but on the other hand, nothing better than a challenge for the New Year and at some stage you have to get back in the saddle again.

Good luck Maff ... they should have a duty to ease you back in - have you tried taking advice from the CAB ?

Of course everything depends on the size of the firm/co. and their attitude to employees.

That's really maddening that your company didn't look after you financially!
I can't believe someone can lose, or come close to losing their house after a WORK accident!
Take it easy tomorrow and don't hurt yourself more!
