Well that was a weird day but had to do it and to be honest the company have been
top notch really helpful. I'm working 3 days a week for the first 5 weeks then upto 4 days for the following 5 weeks. My boss has told me however long it take for me to get back onto the motorway/highway and working in live traffic dont worry.
Felt really nerous this morning it felt as though i was stating a new job but everyone has been spot on so far so good i know its only a day but it felt good to be back!

yeah i was going to ask the same question...i worked for a heavy highway/civil contractor at one point...and we were always dodging out of the way from drunks.
tough to do, but when you get back out there don't think about it...just do it and enjoy the good things about the job...

Now then Simon i work for a company called AmeyMouchel which is one of the biggest Highway Agencys contractors and yeah your right is scary as f""k mate and believe me you see some really nasty sights?
Working nights is proper scary as you have all the irish wagon drivers hurtling down the M6 at warp speed as they dont have speed restrictors on there wagons
Nights would be horrible ... M62 was closed yesterday after an early morning jumper, frankly you'd never get over the trauma of seeing that.
Keep safe mate.
