Finally saw this on DVD and love it. Wanted to scratch my eyes out every time Katie Holmes was on screen but the rest of the movie was very enjoyable. Loved the Michael Caine cast for Alfred and the darker feel to the whole story.

Where the hell have I been? I finally saw this and I love it. This isn't just the best Batman movie, I'm saying this is the best comic book-adapted movie ever (Superman, Spiderman, X-Men, all of them). I loved the Michael Keaton Batman, but this is on a whole other level, it is a serious film.
I thought the cast, acting, direction, everything just great. Nieson, Cain, Freeman, Oldman, the guy who played Batman (?) all great. I'm glad they didn't waste time making the Batmobile the star, when a prop is the main attraction it means they have nothing else to offer. Same with Katie Homles, I though she was perfect in that she was so completely unspectacular, it kept a lame romantic subplot from overpowering the rest of the movie.
I really hope they go from here and redo the entire series, or just work with different villians. The lead in to the Joker was very well executed, no reason to stop.

I know this is way after the fact, but I got a chance to see Batman Begins on the IMAX 5 story screen. Made the movie even better obviously. IMAX even made Charlie and the Chocolate Factory seem good. But that movie did kinda suck.
just watched this thing... like everyone else, I was extreeeeeemely surprised with it. it easily surpassed all expectations I had for the movie. Best Batman movie yet imo.
Just saw this today through on demand. I have to agree, one of the best films I've seen a while. I thought it wouldn't be better than the original batman, but was hands down better. I can't wait for the sequel. I hope Nolan directs the next one.
