Manumission comes to London / Astoria Closing party Thurs 15 Jan. I always felt they where one off the poorest nights in Ibiza, even back in the 1990's. After they got rid of that awful sex show their night was more like a West End show than a club night. I guess the only people that will go to this will be Ibiza workers. Anyone know what happened to them going to New York ?
I agree Chunky. It was way over the top. Though i have had some decent nights there.....the 2002 Radio1 Essential Mix stands out. But as for all the razz a tazz....they can shove it!
we need less superclubs and a move back towards smaller more refined club nights!!
definitely - clubs are less like proper clubs these days and more like gig venues
everyone faces the same way looking up at the dj as if it's a stage
put the dj away in the corner somewhere - we only need to hear them not see them- there will of course be the odd geek who stands watching the booth all night but i'd see that as their loss. dance floors have a dynamic of their own which is removed when people are arranged like a gig crowd and stage shows are a shit idea esp live sex...
Forget manumission - save yourself a few quid and just sit at home watching benny hill[
This was always a sideshow ... over-hyped with the ibiza uncovered publicity. They've shifted their night on the Island after people lost interest. Glad to say I've never been dragged to one.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Was this the Sasha one? I was actually there if so but hadnt had my progressive awakening yet and was bored shitless.. lol. The pathetic little system prob didnt help, it was more like being at an outdoor festival at the back.
Bring back small dingy clubs with people who are all bang into it imo

Yes it was the Sasha night. Thats what happens when you stand at the back of that club, it's way to big. I was at the front of the decks that night so i could make sure i could here the music!!

Yeah Privilege is a bit of a nightmare sound wise. Its just to big. I had a great night there in 2000 at Renaissance with Sander Kleinenberg and Dave Seaman. Went there for Carl Cox in 1998 and it was appalling.
