anyone else on the wagon for awhile as a new years resolution?

i'm on a month on the wagon. been 11 days now of no boozin' (or anything else , before someone asks). i try and do this twice a year...do a full cleanse, eat healthy. about my only vice i allow myself is coffee, and thats pretty much like oxygen in the corporate world.

i work out all the time as it is, but i find when i'm not drinking the workouts are more effective. more energy and quicker recovery times, as should be expected. after all the xmas turkey, i really wanna get back a bit of the tone i had before the holidays.

just curious if anyone else does this? mine are purely for health reasons, but i know lots of others who do them to avoid the addiction forming trend if one does years and years of uninterupted drinking and other 'recreational' past times

biggest problem i find is going out to the bar sober...its...i dunno, strange! the combination of being at a bar and drinking is so hard wired into me that i find myself going out clubbing less to avoid the temptation. more movies and outdoor activities to occupy the weekends! i just got logic pro on my mac and am going to start learning the ropes on producing. hopefully that will occupy some time as well!

lets here it people, what were your resolutions?

I drink moderately just about every night, maybe 1 to 3 glasses of wine or whiskey, and I haven't been going out on any sort of binges so not gonna detox or anything.

This year's resolution is to get back into gym, interact/socialise with colleagues more, speak up more, go for a part time industry course, and sit tight till the economy turns and I can get the fuck out of this place

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.

I thought it was "off" the wagon for NO drinking and "on" the wagon FOR drinking.. say wut??
            i smoke pot

my only resolution is to work out more, lose a bit a weight and eat a little less or healthier...

I guess I could cut back on the drinking... we'll see.

Re: anyone else on the wagon for awhile as a new years resolution?

my last years resolution was to just stop getting drunk, not stop drinking, but just stop drinking that much, i was pretty much used to getting wasted on wednesdays, fridays and sundays, so since last year i only drink one day, mainly sundays when im with the family, have a couple of beers chill out, have a cookout or something thats about it.

This years resolution is too keep going to the gym and get my self in better shape, ever since i got diagnosed with Anxiety, ive been noticing that my body is in bad shape, so hopefully ill stick to my weekly routine in the gym.

Also trying to drink less and less, hangovers over time seem to be getting worse and worse.

I try to drink in moderation these days (although I do stray occasionally) ... and definately try to stay away from b2b nights.

January is a bad month for me to take a break from partying because between friends and I we have 3 birthdays to celebrate! Feb. is def a better month for me to take a breather.
