Anyone see the preview for this? My neighbor saw this last night and said it was epic!

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.
movie is a good one-time watch. Liam Neeson is a good actor but NOT when he's trained to fight (and does so in the movie) like Jason Bourne. No one and I mean no one in my opinion can take that spot from Matt Damon. He's just captured it wayy too well.
The story overall is ok, another CIA operative using his skills to nab people who have kidnapped his daughter. The plot started losing my attention half way through the movie but the end of it wasn't bad.
It probably deserves more for what the movie stands for in-itself but I'll give it a 5/10 for lack of originality and being a copy-cat-fighter - enjoy it.

I didn't think it was copy-cat though. Their acting styles are quite different. Bourne was a character whose body and musclesknew how to fight before he remembered who he was; while Neeson's character was a fighter upfront. I liked that Neeson brought a singularity and gravity to the character, he did the 'don't fuck with me or I'll fuxor you' quite well.
The movie was formulaic and predictable but Neeson played his part well.

Good movie. Didn't see it as competition to Bourn in any way. This is a story about an old timer, an old CIA operative who's obviously been kind of run down by life...not much like Bourn. Liam Nelson carried the part well, the only true disappointment is the character of the retarded daughtre.

you're getting into the psychology of the actor's behaviors, all I am saying the director of the Bourne series introduced a "style" of fighting that is ridiculously mimicked in this movie. By "style" I mean slap on a bond movie from the 90's and see how they fought back then and how the fighting style has now changed. From all of the movies I have seen and in my collectible memory, Bourne's was the first where this "style" of quick, short-throw, and aggressive moves captured my attention to the extent I now find nearly every other movie trying to copy it ...... and there was almost no reason it was copied with Leeson in this type of movie.
In fact I almost never saw Leeson as a fighter. I haven't seen too many of his flicks and the last one I remember of his was Nell. Yes that is probably not a fair basis for comparison since Nell is from the 90s but that probably what accentuated my opinion about his character as an ex CIA dude, which I personally felt he didn't carry off too well. There's too much sloppy affection in the movie with his daughter that obfuscated his bad boy CIA image.

Ah ok get what you mean about the fighting style. I thought you were comparing Bourne with Neeson's character. But this is kinda like when Steven Seagal or Van Damme came on the scene or even Jet Li, and their moves were copied as well.

I know that could be used as a basis of comparison but those are actual fighting styles. I dont think Bourne's fighting style could be taught in a monthly lesson for $30/Month by the local maestro

Talking about fighting, has IP Man opened in the US? Some sweet fighting in there. IP Man is the story of Bruce Lee's master, played by Donnie Yen.

This movie is farking tragic. What an absolute waste of time.
Would not recommend. I'd rather waste my time watching commercials. Seriously.
Liam fails miserably at his attempt at being a badass mofo.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
