Pick a city location. Pretend the city location is the choice of the DJ- and they choose that location based on what is inspiring them in the international scene and on their experiences with that city. This is the first point of call.
Only then do they go into the studio to compile a city album- pretend the mix is based around the vibe, flavour and experience of that particular city.
Next comes the album gig, which acts as a space for the DJ to air their mix/or track choices to that specific community, and for the artwork to be shot.
Emerson obviously chose Bogota due to the music coming from that region and the gigs he had done previously -Bogota being the city that is inspiring him personally at the moment. Although its unlikely that there are any tracks on there from that region and Emerson had only played there once prior to the GU
The city albums have never claimed to be inspired from the specific album party gig, just the city and underground scene as a whole.
if there is some interwebz dealing, it isnt the point of the thread!
Nah we just like to hijack your thread and fuck around with ya.

Oh. My. God. James absolutely obliterated the island tonight. The last time there was so much destruction, Obi Wan Kenobi had to take a seat on the Falcon after the Death Star said "hi and bye" to Leia's homeworld.
I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.
Im about to give this a listen. Wasnt ever big on his other GUs but the tracklisting on this looks pretty interesting. I am a fan of his just not an avid follower, so I hope I like it
have not had a proper listen but i liked the first one he did the best.. And what is what is will some of these dj's sounding the same. I mean i used to love Lawler and Emerson had his own sound but now they all seem to play the same type of records. Now i know things change and all but anyway. Will chuck it on the pod for a listen tomorrow to work
Definitely better than expected . . . (primarily, I think, because of lukewarm experiences with the Underwater comps . . .)
Both Kerri Chandler tracks are highlights. "Pong" is, for me, when Disc One really steps up from Good to Alright, Let's Go. Ditto for Disc Two. Argy's remix is tremendous.
The (semi-)climax of Voorn's "Blank" is quite heady -- whetting the appetite even further for his upcoming Balance -- but the "killer app" of the comp, so to speak, is the transition between Recloose's "Dust" (with vocals by Joe Dukie) and Josh Wink's "Counter Clock 319." Homina. While the Induceve Mix of the former is reminiscient of Ben Westbeech's "Hang Around" -- particularly thinking here of the Wahoo Main Mix (as featured on Agoria's very excellent At The Controls) -- the latter is just plain _AWE_SOME_ . . . the transition between the two creates that rare moment when it's all you can do not to Pull The Damn Car Over.
PS: Oh shit! Just realized the RA Podcast I've been listening to -- Sebastien San -- since finishing Emerson's GU also includes both of those Kerri Chandler tracks! *arrrrweeeiiirrrddddd*
^^downloading and will give a listen...haven't really bothered with the past couple of GU's all kinda went downhill majorly in the past couple of years.
as for the copyright dude...lol

So have you heard that album from the once-cool label by that dweeb who used to be part of this hot electronica band? I'm thinking a number between 30 and 37. Take a guess
Nice one.

Let me get this straight.
So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:
1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...
Snagged my GU out of the mail box a bit ago, I have high expectations after hearing some favorable reviews. After Uruguay and Singapore this might be his first great mix, in my opinion.
