Re:: New Album from Fat Boy Slim

Despite the fact that some of his music's cheesy and commercial as hell, I think he's a fantastic and genius songwriter. Up there with Liam Howlett of Prodigy, Moby, and Chemical Brothers  If you haven't heard Fatboy's Better Living Through Chemistry CD it's great!

Re:: New Album from Fat Boy Slim

i just got this from xapnder.

                    FATBOY SLIM REVEALS 'PALOOKAVILLE'
Fatboy Slim is preparing to release his new and somewhat mysteriously titled album, 'Palookaville', later this year on 4th October. The former Housemartins hero and Beats International dub man, Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) is blessed with extraordinary talent.
With his artist albums to date, the message was always said to be in the title, such as 'You've Come A Long Way, Baby' and 'Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars'. So just what does this latest offering mean? I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Coming four years after the release of 'Halfway Between The Gutter and The Stars' and after months of speculation, 'Palookaville' will be Fatboy's fourth studio outing and will be released on Skint Records. A fist 'Palookaville' single, 'Slash Dot Dash,' will be released as a teaser on 13th September.

The album features vocal contributions from Damon Albarn, Lateef from San Fran hip-hoppers Blackalicious, Bootsy Collins, Justin Robertson and local Brighton band Johnny Quality. Norman Cook comments:

"I've finally finished it. Palookaville here we come!"
                    " Darkness Imprisioning Me
                    All That I See
                    Absolute Horror
                    I Cannot Live
                    I Cannot Die
                    Trapped In Myself
                    Body My Holding Cell"-James Hetfield(Metallica)

Palookaville, interesting name. I absolutely cannot wait!!

Whoever says he sucks as a DJ must not have heard his classic Big Beat Boutique mix CD. Chock full of old skool jams. It had Jungle Brothers, Bassbin Twins, Art of Noise, among others. His Essential mix CD is also excellent, and made the Paul Oakenfold mix look really bad.

This should be worth the wait. As Norman Cook he was very influential in the 80s British dance scene that has helped lead to where we are now.
An ounce of image is worth a pound of performance.
