Best parade during Mardi Gras. Zulu is super fun (even if they cant throw the coconuts anymore) but it is the first parade on Tuesday morning, usually hung over like a drunken monk and cant make that one.

I have not been to mardi gras in several years now but some of the best times of my early twenties went down there. Three straight nights of raving at the state palace, those were some life changing (altering?) extended weekends. Best memories were PVD (never seen a crowd so mesmerized, this was 1998 I think) and first time seeing Sasha which was the first time I ever heard anyone play an extended 2+ hours in 2000. Sounded just like his essential mix from a couple of weeks later. Lucky to have such good times in the backwaters of Lousiana.

Morale of the story, go to Mardi Gras if you can. It's a one of a kind experience for sure.

^^ I can almost guarantee you would not be the drunkest guy at Mardi Gras

About the only thing you cant get away with is peeing in the street. The NO cops will take you down like you are brandishing a weapon, usually rubbing your face in the concrete where you just relieved yourself.

I cant get into the shows they've been having at ampersand lately. Nobody I am interested in going to. The line up for zoolu this year doesn't really do it for me
