Sasha has developed his tech thing, people either really enjoy it or slag it, seen him a bunch of times since 2003 and always delivers.

Like I said IMHO - In My Humble Opinion
It's easy to make fake set from copysat DJ like Digweed @ La Dune ( or other one from China if you remember when Digweed must make announcement), but just try to make Sasha's La Dune !? It’s practically impossible because Sasha have his own unique signature !?

What I meant by that 2003 remark was that his Glastonbury-set from that summer was the last thing this good... Of course he then proceeded to cane those same 16 or so tracks to death for the next year but at first listen that set really blew my mind... Nothing's been as good since then before this.

I was at that Glastonbury gig I thought it was appalling. He actually managed to play worse tracks than Cowpander that night. Lets Get Ill, Lets Not, anyone who played that track was sucking on Puff Daddy Cock. and dont get me started on that Smells Like Shite Track AKA Smells Like Freeland.

Yeah, Let's Get Ill and Cowpander sucked even then. I liked the Freeland-track, even bought the vinyl.

Part two has just taken me on a little journey while I was cleaning the house. I'm listening to less and less prog these days because it doesn't do much for me anymore, but then along come sets like this that reignite the flame.

                        Part two is mind numbing.

Dunno where you get the copycat thing from ... generally they play different tracks and styles, which is why they compliment each other so well as S & D. Diggers has a much darker sound (which you could even say Sasha copied between parts of 2000 & 2001).

Much as I love Sasha (and I've put my money on the table seeing him across the UK/Europe more times than I care to remember), he has has at times played some embarassing rubbish, and some real dud sets ... which Diggers (2005 electro-phase aside) hasn't.

Digweed at Matter last year took dj'ing to another level .. blending old & new, without one dud during 10 x hours of seemless immense darkly beautiful music - I'm afraid Sasha has been no-where near that same level for years.

The big shame is that if Sasha motivated himself and worked through his back catalogue then he'd be able to create something truly special. His sets seem to drift, with elements of true genius, but these days an inability to sustain things ... I'd say because much of the new music that's out there lets him down.

On his day he can be the messiah ... but I think he needs Digweeds work ethic and passion to do this. Sometimes he lacks motivation.

The nice thing about this set is that he isn't striving to play new new music .. the set is based on the quality of the tracks and not that they aren't available/easily identifiable.

Hope he brings his A-game to Sankeys tonight !

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
