    The International

    This looks cool:

Directed by the bloke that did Run Lola Run ... plus Clive Owen is heavily under-rated and has a real on-screen charisma.

The plot has similarities with Quantum of Solace - ironically Owen, who is also a Liverpool fan, was also heavily linked with playing Bond before Liverpool fan Craig got the job to play a Scouse Bond !

    Looks promising !

      Re: The International

It owes a lot to the thrillers of the 70's - movies like The Parallax View and Three Days of the Condor. Be warned that this is a lot more of a dialogue driven movie, and the shootout that they display in the Grugenheim Museum is about the most action you'll see in the movie.

Still, it's a well thought out movie, and not at all what I was expecting from Tom Twykler (the guy directed Run Lola Run). They're just marketing it in a misleading way.

Just finished watching this - brilliant, stylish & compelling .. like an updated version of The French Connection.

Clive Owen may play the same gritty/down-trodden characters all the time, but he is one of the finest and most watchable actors of his generation .. always had been, even when he was on British Telly ... now Hollywood has embraced him he's taken his career to completely another level, but without sacrificing his integrity.

All in all ... a bloody fine film.

Really really good film...probably one of the best thrillers of recent years. It avoids all the typical plot characteristics that usualy accompany this kind of film and the end is not really what I had expected. Very good indeed.
