But I think we should explore the tracks that producers have been creating since the 70/80's.. not make new shit that sounds like old shit *cough* DFA.

of course. i like it for the very fact that i'm a big vinyl hound of the 60's 70's and 80's; and this retro, cyclic, clash stuff is just so fun... no doubt.
i was having this discussion with a friend the other day and seriously there is nothing "nu" about most of the music all this guys are playing, its mainly old disco being played by all these "hipsters" that used to play all that shitty "nu-rave".
While i love disco, i hate the whole hipster culture.
hipster culture is really annoying in Toronto, cause i think we have were 2nd on the map to get this fad from Brooklynn. Its everywhere here, so much so that it's the opposite of underground or kool. There are so many douchebags that look exactly the same walking on Queen St right now! I liked the steez before cause it was to be different, but now its too be the same!! LMAO
with that being said, i do however dig alot of this nu-disco music though. I have never been big on the electro house but the nu-disco has some kool sounds coming from different influences. For example, Lindstrom is one of the kings of the sub-sub-genre of "cosmic nu-disco" for sure...
ya tiddles huge thanx for sharing those not to long ago; that 6th borough blend sure is fucking amazing.
jody wisternoff has been churned out some mixes with this stuff lately too and they sound pretty damn good. naveen g just made one called "the retrofuture disco" and it's a treat as well. so hot.
