they didnt like the fact that had you had a bit of a rant - so they went and found something in what you wrote, in this case your reference to "rounding up black dudes and getting them to work for free", and threw it back at you....

I think I will give the company forum a miss from now on. I think the employees are going to take everything the company throws at them. I went to a union meeting on Friday, with a 4 month layoff and massive pay cuts you would think people would turn up. Out of 1500 members only 19 people turned up.
it's unfortunate, but... what other option do you have? We cut workforce by 30% at my company (myself included) and it was not negotiable.
Remember to use office-speak when posting on non-MS forums. Company forums sound lame anyway.

I don't think it is remotely racist, and was much more of a statement in those terms! I took it as pointing out a very unfair retrograde situation. Unfortunately it did give them a rather pathetic reason to remove it.

My company also cut its work force by 20%. The remaining workers took a 20% pay cut while Managers took a pay freeze. The company is making amendments that will make no difference in the current situation but will save the company money when the work force return to a double shift patten which wont happen till sales have vastly improved. We have also been laid off but are expected to pay what money the company is paying is back in the future. Personally I would rather fight than accept changes. Yeah most people have the same opinion as you they just accept whatever the company is telling them. But if the company can't survive without paying its workforce a decent wage it doesn't deserve to survive. The company is pushing workers rights back 30 years. While we have been laid off the company is undergoing a secret major restoration that could not have been planed in such a short period of time.
Here's a better thought - if you are so against the co. - quit and start your own business - why work for someplace you think is so snarky - or perhaps get more education to work up the mgmt. ladder and change it.

Because in the current climate that's not really an option, I still have a wife an child to support. I've worked at the company for 12 years and stand to loose a lot by leaving. My current job I have a final salary pension, if I leave I will not be able to get another one anywhere else. Leaving the company is exactly what the company would like, but I would rather fight. When I started at the company we agreed to certain terms and conditions, the company is now trying to amend them for no other reason than greed.
I'm already working on the the education part but I dont think that will get far enough up the ladder to be able to change anything. My company made 6 Billion on profit last year 3% more than the year before. In the last 3 months over 1000 people have walked away, to what unemployment. People spent years fighting for better working conditions just for the company to take them away. Walk away no I think I will stay and fight for now.
