Don't know how anyone discovered this, but the WAV files for the Media Player demo were created in a cracked version of soundforge! This is how to prove it:
Select one of the WAV files from WINDOWS\Help\Tours\WindowsMediaPlayer\Audio\Wav, open it in notepad, you will get a load of jibberish, but if you scroll to the bottom, you will find the line "Deepz0ne ISFT Sound Forge 4.5 "" e
Deepz0ne, as some of you will know is a founder of cracking group Radium!
There are two downsides to this story though... Sound Forge is of course now owned by Sony - Sony v MS is hardly as entertaining as Sonic Foundry v MS would have been.
Secondly - I bet MS outsourced the job of creating these WAV files - so rather than them getting into trouble for this, they'll just point the finger at the responsible freelancer
