BBC Radio One is going global by expanding its coverage to newer territories. It's about time too, as the British broadcaster's Essential Selection Shows have been around since the early 1990's with long time DJ/radio conglomerate, Pete Tong. In addition to the usual UK festivals and club nights, Radio One will stretch over the world map to capture the fresher sights and sounds abroad.
Some few minor changes in the domestic Radio One schedule will include events such as the annual Creamfields festival, which the station have covered live in the past, and will now also move to the Godskitchen Global Gathering festival too. Although the renowned station will continue its Balearic coverage, attention will also focus on events occurring elsewhere throughout the summer with Radio One broadcasting from international events including the Sonar festival in Barcelona and the Exit festival in Serbia.
Radio One is best known for its world famous Saturday night Essential Mixes. With continous live coverage of the best DJ's and millions of listeners from all over the world, it is a recognised brand in the interational dance community.
