Thanks feather! I certainly can't make it to the pharmacy right now, and Justin has gone out of town for work.

I feel like I need to apologize to DIDI for being such a wimp. I really want to go, but I'll be stuck in a corner doubled over and running to the toilet every 10 minutes.

Yup...exactly 24 hours later, I'm awake and on the throne again.
And the cramps seem to be getting worse in intensity but not in volume. Ouch, I'm going to try and get back to sleep.

wow I've eaten rotis for 22 years of my life in India, everyone I ever knew back home has done the same for every lunch and dinner and never have I had or heard of someone having such a violent reaction. not once.

A roti is just plain flour thats turned into a "clay" like texture by mixing it with water (which is called "aata") and then flattening it out in a circular shape and heated up by cooking on a flame. So unless you're allergic to flour or water, I can't imagine it doing this to you.

If you ate a kulcha (which is a roti type creation with different foods stuffed into it i.e. vegetables or meat or what have you) then you could've gotten sick from the additions.

Did this happen when you ate at a resteraunt? If the aata went bad, then you could probably feel it, but even then I cant imagine it this bad. The only worse thing I can think of is if the place was unhygenic and rodents got to the food...... I dont want to spook you out.

Unless, the roti was put on a surface that had raw meat on it. I can't count how many times I've gone to a friends house and they are cutting stuff up, letting raw chicken touch other food and cutting up veggies on the very same board that they were cutting the chicken on....People just don't realize how sick that can get you....

Remember kids, cut chicken on the plastic boards, and cut veggies on the wooden boards...If you cut chicken on the wooden boards, the board can soak up the nasty shit, but the plastic boards can't..Much safer.

Yes Kamal, I ate a kulcha then, which is what we call a roti here in Canada.
It was filled with potatoes, cabbage, carrots and chickpeas.

I imagine there was cross contamination going on as boneless chicken is their biggest seller.

I still feel like shit, having cramps, running to the throne and had such a shitty sleep, up every 2 - 3 hours. Fuck.

Having some toast now as I haven't eaten since Thurs. night and it's now Sat afternoon.

I've been sick like this before, if dehydration sets in that's when it gets pretty ugly... I won't go into my story, but lets just say there were cadillac margaritas, salmonella poising, palm springs desert dehydration all at once ...

and yes I went to the hospital .
