It is when you compare it to Miami. But it's still too expensive if you live on the other side of the country and don't know when / where you're going to find your next substantive source of income.

A huge MN/IA/WI contingent is flying down and staying at The Atheneum. Looking forward to checking out the remodel. I'll be in Sat - Tuesday. Check out my buddy Grimace's BBQ at The Corktown Tavern on Friday if you want some good BBQ and listen to some great Midwest DJs.

Artists confirmed so far include: Leonard Warren (Chicago), Farzana (San Francisco), Jason Garcia (Proof, Detroit), MossMoss (Race Car Productions, San Francisco), Aaron Bliss + Jesse Jakob (Black, Minneapois), Eric Cloutier (NYC), Punisher (Seismic, Detroit), Adam Jay (Monoid Recordings/Impact Mechanics, Indianapolis), James Pennington (UR, Detroit), and Sassmouth (Chicago/London).

It starts at 5 PM and you can get a few brews, eat some grub, and then head onto the next party.

correct me if i'm wrong but I would imagine a music fest in Detroit to be rather inexpensive period.

True that, in fact while you're there you might as well take advantage of Detroit's average house price of $18,000

But as far as DEMF goes, lineup looks stellar this year! I had a great time last year but will unfortunately be missing it this year cuz I'll be in Asia. I'll definitely be there next year tho!
