    DJing Pioneer Headphones: SE DJ5000

    Thoughts??

I don't wear them all crooked like most dj's, so the lack of a swivel on the earpieces doesn't bother me.... I actually wear mine with the top of them to the back of my head and the ear pieces just above my eyes. Like an alien..Weird, I know, but it works for me.

Anyone ever tried these??Do they suck??Should I get them??

    RIP ~ Steve James

Just brought the Pioneers back to where I bought them!! Were not so sturdy, and the closed ear design is really not something that I like....

            so, I bought these.....

            And they fucking rule!!!

Yeah, they were like $190 plus tax....I returned the Pioneer ones, and used the credit towards the Xone's....

My Sony's were starting to sound really dull. I am so glad I got the Xone's. They sound amazing and are sturdy as hell!

                      Re: Pioneer Headphones: SE DJ5000

The SE-DJ5000 is the old model revived or remanufactured and kept at a half price of the bigger and well known brother HDJ-1000.

I have the HDJ-1000s and I can say I amsatisfied with the sound they produce, however I am not satisfied with the plastic grips that hold the casquette of the headphones. I believe that they can easily crack or brake in any live performance if you put sudden tention to them.

I've heard a lot of good opinions for the A&H ones but currently I was not lucky to play and test them.

I am a fanatic hater of all SONY products, so the clasic 700s is not an option for me.
I had Stantons in the past, but never liked them.

And of course there are the HDJ-2000s which according to many people that tested them, do not deserve the money differnece they require compared to the HDJ-1000s.

AKG is another option, but never had the luck to own some or test some, except for the Studio series (which are not meant for DJing).

This is my opinion and experience so far.

Aren't the Xones the same ones Diggers was recently using (XD53's I think) ?

Looks like he's recently switched back to the Pioneer HDJ 2000's.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

that guy will play with whatever is given to him. so i wouldn't take what he is using as gospel in headphones. the guy has used everything.

I asked one well known DJ who shall stay nameless so as not to fuck up his free headphones whether to buy the Pioneer HDJ 2000s or the A&H headphones and he told me to deffo go with A&H.

Which was handy as they cost 100 € less then the Pioneers.
