anyone catch stern on lettermen last night?

so I happened upon this and I have to say I was surprised about what I heard!

I'm not a fan of stern, I think he's a pompous shock-jock but last night stern & letterman preceeded to tear the FCC and michael powell a new asshole! it was awesome! Their conversation lasted 3 commercial breaks & the last segment was basically a commercial for sirius radio where stern has free-reign over the air waves. He was trying to convert all of his old listeners over to his sirius show.

stern was very upset, but not his outrageous self. he made some VERY valid points about censorship and "the new puiblic radio". lettermen fed into him & didn't make light of ANYTHING they were talking about.

I dunno if this changes my views on stern but I gained alot of respect for him last night & I hope he fucked the right people! they even got a jab in on oprah!

blah. howard stern's show is basically recycled shit from when i actually found him funny when i was 16. seriously, i have heard all the same shit since 94.

opie and anthony arent as big, but i laugh a LOT more. i have actually had to pull my car over b/c of them.

i find opie and anthony 10 times funnier than stern - i've sat in my car for an hour and halt at time because i didn't want to miss anything by running into my place - when they're on a roll they wouldn't go to commercial, or if things in the studio were too crazy - they cut back to what was going on.

to me from me this christmas is going to be XM radio.

i cant believe people get upset over terrel owens and that naked woman when there is so much gratuitous violence EVERYWHERE in film, tv, and even in some music...

i am not going to go into whether or not i feel these forms of expression should be limited...that would open a can of worms for me...

however, i am pointing out the complete stupidity in the reasoning of the fcc

absolutely nothing...kids should be taught about sex much more openly and honestly...it is important they learn about the true ramifications of it...and there is nothing wrong with being naked

id rather have my kid watch porn than watch csi or rambo

I watched Letterman last night and I find Stern as funny as I did years and years ago (15 years). I've listened to Opie and Anthony's stuff and to me they are just Stern clones. Howard is a revolutionary and a pioneer when it comes to terrestrial radio and he will virtually single-handedly revolutionize satellite radio as well. I enjoy the fact that Stern is not *all* about poop and pussy jokes anymore and actually has cutting-edge interviews with celebrities of today. No one else would dare push the envelope in that direction. I, for one, will definitely be purchasing a Sirius subscription.

Opie and Anthony are funnier but not the best I heard. That would be Phil Henry when I used to live in south Florida. The guy is a legend. He's now in LA I believe. Anyone heard of him?

they're already there - they started in early october. howard is only following them into the satellite arena. the thing is, he's got the platform to advertise himself much more than opie and anthony, who were taken off the air, but still under contract for last year and half/two years.

stern going to use the last 15 months to promote himself going to a new place - inifinity broadcasting/viacom must be loving the fact taht they are paying this guy to fuck them.

Hendry is funny, but he gets old after a while. It's the same schtick. The only thing that changes are his characters. Definitely pant-shitting hilarious the first few times I heard him though.
