The "Chocolate Blanco" release (SYN023) comes to us from
Canary Islands by way of Wavecollective boss Frank García. This
release showcases the way undergound house sensibilities have
worked their way into today is progressive/tech house and
marks Frank and the remixer Karim Haas as ones to watch
moving forward.
Frank García begins his original with groovy but simple techy
percussion that touches the low end just enough to create a
bounce even before the bass line drops.
Karim Haas treatment brings us a slightly less pumping version
that still holds itís weight as an equally solid offering in the
package. Simple, but slightly distorted tech drums, along with
elegantly implemented synth and reverbs, combine symbiotically
with a bassline that snakes its way throughout the track. There
is a massive breakdown to speak of here, and this is what keeps
the track relevant and worthwhile as an earlier evening deep
tech house tune.
