with technical precision, this mission was well executed. it was nice seeing all the news media on cable television inquire into SEAL training -- quite relevant of them to do that.

i wonder how far this is going to escalate... another Mogadishu crisis on the horizon, perhaps?

            !!!!!!

unmanned tankers/yachts full of bombs with remote detonators. filmed by predator planes and put on youtube.

besides being awesome and hilarious it would also create new jobs in ship building !

NATO has an ongoing anti-piracy mission off Somalia called Operation Allied Protector. The mission involves four ships covering more than a million square miles, Davies said.

A U.S.-led international naval task force, Combined Task Force-151, is also patrolling in the region.
seems like a sufficient enough detail.

Piracy accelerated after the fall of the Somali government in the early 1990s and began to flourish after shipping companies started paying ransoms. Those payments started out being in the tens of thousands of dollars and have since climbed into the millions.

Some experts say companies are simply making the problem worse by paying the pirates.
okay, so all this ransom money is just feeding them, and i'd postulate that these pirates might be collaborating with terrorist cells by now (?). been also wondering what ramifications would ensue if companies keep enabling the imminent possibility for these pirates to organize, and upgrade up a tier in magnitude.

Lets hope not, cause that could always lead to another genocide in another country if the USA fail like they did during the Black Hawk down incident.
